Royal Cape Yacht Club is so proud of their annual publication SAIL and its partnership with Big Blue Media and in particular Ingrid Hale, the Publishing Editor. After 8 editions we are in discussions for the 9th edition, which is due to be released in June 2018. RCYC SAIL has grown in maturity, content and produces quality stories which just keeps getting better. Ingrid worked alongside PUMA South Africa on both PUMA Oceans Racing campaigns during the Volvo Ocean Race years of 2009/2010 and 2012/2013. PUMA, being a newcomer Brand to the sport of sailing and ocean racing, understood it was vital that we worked with someone who could navigate the specific areas in which we would be operating – namely the V and A Waterfront for our Pop-Up and Activation space as well as the Royal Cape Yacht Club in particular.
Ingrid was such a person.
In addition her knowledge of the media space in this area as well as key personalities and connections during this time stood us in great stead to execute our campaigns during this time. Her association with several sailing-based charities and youth organisations helped us to ensure that we not only executed the event with an extremely high-level but also did some good during these stopovers and created awareness not just for sailing but also ocean conservation.
Ingrid knows the business and lie of the land in sailing in Cape Town in particular but in South Africa in general. Her wealth of media knowledge helped us on the PR side of things and her ability to organise and coordinate large functions with flexibility and maximum impact were key to ensuring both stopovers were global successes for PUMA. She is a fantastic asset.
